sushi rolls!
there are three delicious foods you can't get in cheltenham: a good steak, decent mexican food, and sushi. to finish off the asian food kick for a while, i took a stab at sushi making today. i made a shrimp and veggie roll, a salmon roll, and a spicy tuna roll. there's no doubt about it - my sushi pales in comparison to even super-market rolls, but it'll have to do for now.

yes, but they LOOK awesome. making sushi rice is tough. someone told me once to just buy it, like take-out, from a japanese restaurant in town. but if you don't have one, herein lies your problem...
ReplyDeletethanks! by the second batch, the sushi rice was getting there. i bet with a bit more practice it could be good. my bigger problem was the availability of sashimi-grade raw fish!! what i wouldn't give for a sushi-go-round about now!
